REC LEAGUE? WHAT'S THAT? The Rec(reation) League is a group of improv teams that perform a ComedySportz-style show on Monday nights in a just-for-fun environment. Participants get workshops, uniforms, and time to play on our stage! Ever been part of a kickball, softball or bowling league? This is like that, but without the physical fitness part.
WHEN ARE PERFORMANCES?
Rec League Matches are held on most Monday nights at 8 PM. All tickets are sold at the door only (no advance sales) for $8. There is a $3 discount for paying cash. If you want to confirm that there is a Rec League Match happening, you can call our office during work hours at 323.871.1193.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Rec League is by invite only. We gather a list of great players. Then we practice all together. Then your team will perform on our stage in Rec League matches, invite family and friends (and strangers) to come see you be amazing, and learn in the process. WHAT DOES IT ENTAIL?
Once you are committed, you will pay dues online (the link is below).
Four Mondays per month, all players attend a workshop at 6:45 PM; this is followed by a performance at 8, featuring several of the players, in rotation.
Your fee of $65/month will cover workshops, a
director, and performances.
Dues must be paid in advance for every
three-month season, due the day before the first meeting of the
season.
All players will pay a
one-time fee of $30 for a pair of Rec League uniform shirts, which are yours to
keep.
You must commit to every Monday (6:45-10 PM) for the duration of the
season (some exceptions can be made prior to joining). In addition to
performing on our stage with your team, you will also be an audience
for the other teams, and work out together in focused practices with
your coach.

WHAT ARE THE PERKS?
Besides the obvious--getting to improvise on the ComedySportz stage in front of an audience--you will also have a Rec League ID card that enables you to see all of the Main Company, College Team, and Sunday Company shows for free (as long as space is available). You will grow and continue to improvise in a fun and friendly environment. You will be part of a show you can feel proud to invite others to come see. And you will be part of a team of people who have a similar improv vocabulary and will play together weekly!
