TRANSPORTATION

AIRPORTS
The Los Angeles area doesn’t have just one airport. Oh, no–that would be too simple! We have at least five airports of size.
We recommend that you fly into the Burbank/Bob Hope Airport. It is by far the closest airport, 15-20 minutes from the hotel (in LA, we measure distances by time, not by miles because it takes so damn long to get places). Flying into Burbank often means a change of planes, but it is much closer and far easier to get in and out of. Airlines using Burbank include: United, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, America West and Alaska. There are also smaller airlines.
If you need to fly into LAX, you can, although it is about 45 minutes away and because it is large, takes more time to get in and out of. Usually you can find better deals flying into LAX because you have more options. We do not recommend you fly into Orange County/John Wayne, Ontario or Long Beach because they’re so far away.
TRANSPORTATION FROM THE AIRPORT
Bob Hope/Burbank
If you’re flying into Bob Hope/Burbank on Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm, or on Monday from 9 am to 4 pm, we will pick you up!
LAX
Because of the number of people flying in and the distance to LAX, not to mention the infamous LA traffic, it could be a meltdown if we attempted to go back and forth with a van. Our city is huge. So to avoid you sitting there and getting bored and irritated (because improv is happy happy fun fun!), we’ve arranged special ComedySportz shuttles for you at a steeply discounted rate! We’ll also have CSz staff at the airport to help you.
Rates for shuttles:
Individual: $15 plus gratuity.
If your team is traveling together or you arrive at the same time as other CSz friends, a private van is the best deal:
Private van: 7 people or less, $62 (which means it could cost as little as $8.50!). 9 people: $76. When you book a private van, the price will be listed with the tip included.
Click here to make your reservation with Prime Time Shuttle. Drag down to “Roosevelt Hotel” for the destination. You won’t believe how many hotels we have in southern California until you see this list!

If you’d rather, you could take the Metrorail from the airport to the Hollywood-Highland station directly across from the hotel. Advantage: really cheap — about $1.60. Drawbacks: you have to take a free tram to the station and change trains twice and you have to hold your luggage for about 90 minutes. We don’t recommend it, but we’ve done it!
Here’s yet another option–if you know someone in LA, you can always call them and ask them to pick you up. Never hurts to ask! We just knew we couldn’t handle the volume with the challenges of our city.
GETTING AROUND THE CITY

The Hollywood and Vine Metrorail station is movie themed.
The ceiling is covered in film reels.
Almost everything at the tournament is walking distance from the hotel! Most everything else will be easily reached by the Metrorail Station across the street from the hotel or by shuttles which we will have arranged for you.
